Dead Boy is a stage play written and directed by Spiyc Asẹnwà. The play is an adaptation of Sizwe Bansi is Dead, and was chosen because of the universal application of the struggle depicted in the South African story.
It is the first stage play From Transition.
Through imagery, symbolism, some comedy and a little hyperbole, the play tells a story of daily struggles in a harsh clime.
The play ‘Dead Boy’ was staged at the Wole Soyinka Theatre, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, on October 2, 2022.
The Team
Our story, ‘Dead Boy’, was put together by a team of amazing creatives, who worked hard in this expression.
Beyond the director, this team comprises of stage managers, actors, orchestra, dancers, designers for costume and set, stage hands, etc.
